entrustIT's CEO, Jeff Dodd has been featured in a national technology publication, highlighting both the company’s growth ambitions and the wider challenges facing the UK IT sector.
Dodd, who leads the business from its base in the South, was interviewed for a double-page feature in Comms Dealer, a well-established title read by MSPs, vendors and technology partners across the UK.
The article was written following entrustIT’s acquisition of DWM Technical Solutions, a Bedford-based IT and systems integration specialist. The deal marked a significant step in the company’s regional expansion strategy, adding a new office location, strengthening intellectual property and integration capabilities, and increasing total headcount to more than 75 people.
In the interview, Dodd explains how the acquisition also brought major new customers into the business, including a UK airport and a multi-million-pound partnership with a national distributor. These wins reflect entrustIT’s focus on supporting complex, multi-site organisations with between 50 and 500 users, typically operating across a blend of on-premise infrastructure and private and public cloud environments.
Comms Dealer also explored entrustIT’s longer-term growth plans. While the company has historically supported clients across Hampshire, Dorset and the wider South, Dodd outlined ambitions to continue expanding geographically. The strategy combines organic growth of at least 10 per cent year on year with targeted regional acquisitions, with future locations in the North East and West of the UK under consideration.
The interview also explores Dodd’s perspective on how the managed services sector is evolving and what will distinguish successful MSPs in the years ahead. He argues that the MSP of the future will be deeply embedded within its clients’ businesses, moving beyond traditional support models to become a strategic partner across technology, security and operations. This, he explains, requires a continual reassessment of services and solutions rather than a fixed portfolio.
A significant part of that evolution will be driven by AI, though Dodd is careful to separate practical innovation from industry hype. While AI is already dominating conversations across the UK tech landscape, he highlights real-world applications where it delivers tangible value, particularly in the convergence of cyber resilience, physical security, access control and intelligent monitoring. At the same time, he stresses that technology alone is never the answer. Leveraging AI to make teams more effective and customers more secure must go hand in hand with doing the fundamentals well. In Dodd’s view, MSPs that focus on business outcomes rather than chasing the latest technology trend will be the ones that lead the market, while others risk being left behind.
The article closes with a refreshingly honest Q&A that shows the person behind the role. Dodd talks candidly about the values that guide him, his discomfort with networking for networking’s sake, and the importance of simply doing what you say you’ll do. There are reflections on lessons learned, work–life balance, and the experiences that shaped his leadership... along with the clear sense that he’d rather be getting on with the job than talking about himself!
For entrustIT, the feature represents national recognition of a business that has grown steadily from its regional roots while remaining focused on quality, trust and long-term customer relationships.
The full interview appears in the January 2026 edition of Comms Dealer.
