What is Microsoft 365 and Its Subscriptions?
Microsoft 365 is a cloud-based suite of productivity applications and as highlighted in our previous blog we love it, and you should too. With your Microsoft 365 subscription, you have access to a plethora of applications that work across multiple devices, all under one license. There is a variety of subscription levels available which will satisfy home, small business, and enterprise users.
Microsoft 365 is a per-user monthly subscription. There are various plans available to meet a variety of business needs. Between Microsoft 365 business plans and enterprise plans, prices range from £4.50 to £16.60 per user per month. Plans can be mixed and matched and you can easily change plans at any time to meet changing business needs. With its huge range of applications and different subscription levels, businesses large and small will be able to find the tools to better communicate, collaborate, and organize your work files that are easy to use and secure.
Microsoft 365 Applications and What They Do
Microsoft Teams – As highlighted in our previous blog we love Teams. Microsoft Teams is the most widely used and feature-rich communication and collaboration application. It provides instant message/chat, audio calls, video conferencing, and collaboration features. Teams also give you the ability to host meetings with thousands of participants, record your meetings, and share your screens, which even allows you to remotely control colleagues' and partners' devices.
Microsoft Word – Used for planning, business cards, resumes, product manuals, invitation cards, restaurant menus, label forms, and so much more; Microsoft Word is the most known word processing application and has been helping businesses since 1983.
Microsoft PowerPoint – This is the go-to application for creating slides that can store and play audio, videos, and animation effects to help you give a greater impact when showing a presentation. Built perfectly for the education industry and pitching+.
Microsoft Outlook - Like Microsoft Word, it is highly unlikely that you haven’t interacted with this application at some point during your career. Originally released in 1997, Microsoft Outlook has evolved to become one of the most popular email clients for businesses. These days outlook can be accessed in a variety of ways, from a desktop or browser to an IOS or Android App.
Microsoft SharePoint – SharePoint, has several uses, to build intranet websites to share, manage and collaborate with your organisation. SharePoint is perfect for creating any of the following in your business, a document management tool, a calendar for business-wide events, a ticketing system, a management workflow, a knowledge base and more. Additionally, SharePoint is a cloud solution and can therefore be accessed from anywhere on any device if you have an internet connection
Microsoft Calendar – As the name suggests, this is a Microsoft Calendar application that can be used to set, reminders, and schedule meetings, and tasks. Whilst a calendar is a timeless, and simple organisation tool, Microsoft has made sure to integrate a lot of additional features
Microsoft OneDrive - Microsoft OneDrive is a cloud-based storage solution for businesses looking for flexibility and security. When you create a OneDrive account for your business, each licensed user is automatically given 1TB of Storage. Being a cloud-based application you can access OneDrive data from anywhere with an internet connection through a desktop, laptop or a smartphone. This makes it perfect for remote/hybrid workers which as highlighted in our previous blog, is becoming increasingly common. If you require other people to access these files it can be integrated with SharePoint
Microsoft Excel - Excel is a powerful spreadsheet application that is used across a variety of industries. Excel goes further than most spreadsheet applications, it can perform a variety of useful features, from, producing charts and graphs, to calculations and data processing. Excel's ease of use paired with its feature-rich interface has caused it to become the most commonly used spreadsheet application in the world.
Microsoft OneNote - OneNote gives you the ability to keep your thoughts, notes and plans all in one place. You can create sections, pages, and subpages to organise your notes. As most Microsoft Applications do, OneNote does more than just take written or typed notes, it additionally allows you to record notes, embed links, insert images, and even attach audio or video clips.
Microsoft Publisher - This is a desktop publishing software that enables you to create professional-looking materials like letterheads, business cards, brochures, multi-column newsletters, multi-page manuals, calendars, labels, wide banners, oversized posters, greeting cards, and more. You can start off using a pre-designed template or a blank canvas to create your own design to match your corporate colours

Microsoft Access - Access is a graphical database management system
Microsoft Booking - Booking is a customer relation booking tool
Microsoft Delve - Delve is a graphic tool that allows you to manage your Microsft 365 profile
Microsoft Forms - Is a web-based form application that people ask questions and take quizzes on
Microsoft Planner - As the name suggests 'Planner' is a statistic-based planning application
Microsoft Stream - Is an application that allows you to organise, upload, view and share videos securely
Microsoft Sway - Allows you to create and share interactive reports, stories and presentations
Microsoft Yammer - Yammer is a form of private business social media application for employees
