Following the defeat for Theresa May's Brexit deal in the commons last night, it is looking increasingly likely that Britain is heading for a No-Deal exit from the European Union on 29th March 2019. The Independent claims that the cost to the UK economy of the flooding over the Christmas period could reach £6bn. “Economists have predicted that the recent flooding will hit Britain’s GDP by 0.2 per cent due to businesses being forced to close, loss of agriculture output, and people not being able to go shopping and travel.”
